Sunbeams & Sugar started the way the best things usually do, in a kitchen, with love, and a little bit of stubborn optimism.
I'm Susan, and this little bakery was born out of one of the hardest seasons of my life. After 15 years in corporate HR, I found myself laid off and standing at a crossroads. I could spiral, or I could bake. I chose bake. What started as something I loved became something I needed, and somewhere along the way it became something others loved too.
My husband Brannon has been by my side through all of it, talking through every idea, showing up for setup or breakdown, and keeping me company in the quiet middle of a market day when the real magic happens. He's not loud about it. He just shows up, and that means everything.
Behind every bag is this beautiful, busy family. Six kids who believe in what we're building here. One of them is currently serving in the Navy, thousands of miles away. He can't make it to the markets, but he asks for updates, and cookies, regularly. That one gets a box in the mail.
Every order you place supports a real family, a real dream, and a woman who decided that when life handed her lemons, she'd rather make meringue.
